Arabian Horse Association Award
The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) sponsors this year-end award for AHA-recognized
Competitive Trail Ride Organizations. It is presented to the high-point Arabian, Half-Arabian, or
Anglo-Arabian horse, with bonus points awarded for participation in AHA Regional and/or National
Championship Competitive Rides. Two awards are presented annually at the GLDRA Awards
Banquet, one for Top competitive Arabian and one for top competitive half Arabian.
Lisa Germann coordinates the administration of this award. After year-end placings are published,
she contacts GLDRA members with eligible Arabian or Half-Arabian horses who have earned the
highest point totals to confirm their active AHA membership status. Once the recipient is
confirmed, she downloads the AHA Recognized Competitive Trail Ride Organization’s Year-End
High-Point Arabian & Half-Arabian Award form, completes it, and submits it to AHA. Additional
contact with AHA can be made as needed.
Purpose
The Arabian Horse Association Award recognizes the Arabian, Half-Arabian, or Anglo-Arabian
horse accumulating the highest number of year-end points.
Criteria
● The owner must hold an active AHA membership at the beginning of the ride season.
● The horse must be a registered Arabian, Half-Arabian, or Anglo-Arabian.
● Riders must declare their intent to compete for the Arabian Horse Association Award to the
Points Keeper before their first ride of the season.
● Rider(s) must be a GLDRA member during the years for which they are competing for this
award.
