RULES: AERC and UMECRA. Endurance will be a gate-into-hold and Competitive will be UMECRA window concept. AERC
and UMECRA rules regarding sponsors for juniors will be followed. ALL JUNIORS MUST WEAR HELMETS. Condensed
Competitive and Endurance Rules can be found on the Great Lakes Distance Riding Association website, www.gldrami.org
(Riding Rules). All rides are open to any equine. Tentative starting time will be 6:00 a.m. each day; FUN Ride start about 9 a.m..
Vet-in for Saturday rides will be Friday late afternoon/evening; Sunday rides, Saturday late afternoon/evening.
AWARDS: There will be completion awards for each rider. There will be an award for Best Condition in the Endurance and
LD Rides.
RIDE LOCATION: Hopkins Creek Trail Camp, Manton, MI. Directions: From US-131 take Exit 191. Turn East (left) onto M-
42. Drive 5 miles to Lucas Road; turn North (left). Drive 5.8 miles (just past the Hopkins Creek Bridge); turn West (left) on
sandy road into Hopkins Creek Trail Camp (1.8 miles into camp). NOTE: At first Y, GO STRAIGHT; DO NOT TURN LEFT!
From Lake City (M-55 and M-66 intersection) go North on M-66 2 miles; turn West (left) on M-42. Drive 4.4 miles to Lucas Road;
turn North (right) and proceed as above.
TRAIL: Mostly two-track.
CAMP: Horse water available; generator will not run during quiet hours (10 p.m. to 8 a.m.). Camping fee $6/person/night
(group rate) collected with ride entry fee. No camp site reservations available.
All Dogs Must Be Leashed -NO Exceptions!
FOOD: Saturday evening potluck prior to Awards Presentation (main course provided by ride management).
